So after Tony had 10 hours of stomach pain and nearly passed out on his peeing perch, we rushed him to the ER. After a few hours of running tests we discovered that his appendix needed to come out. Oh and did I mention that we are leaving for New Zealand in 10 days?
Neither Tony or I have had any type of surgery, so of course this is a pretty scary thing. Luckily Tony wasn’t nervous at all and the surgery went very well. It took about 2 hours for the surgery and another hour in the recovery room before I could see him. About 1 1/2 hours later he finally woke up and, although groggy, still had his good sense of humor, even asking the nurse if he could do yoga on the floor (clearly she would not have let him if he had even been serious). So far his diet has consisted of ice chips, water, apple juice, and in a few minutes we might get ambitious with some chicken broth! Thanks to all the help and good wishes from everyone. Let’s see how this chicken broth sits with that new appendix free stomach….
